The bird died

Ive searched forums and can't find a problem like mine. My bird was surging and idling high so I replaced my egr valve which cured most of the problem. Then a couple of days ago it shut off when I gave it gas at a stoplight and I took 5 minutes to get it cranked up again. After I got it to a gas station it would not crank up again at all unless I hold the gas at WOT while cranking the car. Then it will only stay running above 2000 RPMS. If I let off the gas at all it will shut off. Ive replaced the O2 sensors and IAC valve and that did not help the problem at all. Any help is appreciated... man i need a different daily driver!

My friends 97 Z28 started with this same problem a few days ago. Now it will not start at all. Before this he had to give it full throttle to start it and then keep it above 1000 rpm for it to stay running. We found out today that his fuel pressure regulator was bad. No pressure on the rail. Replaced it with a new one and still no start. He doesn't have EGR btw. It must of gone out by trying to start it so much?? hell, i don't know. Anyway, before we called it a day we found that he had a few bad plug wires. No spark on several cylinders. So, after he buys new wires then we hope it will fix the problem. Going to check the TPS voltage next.

I had similar symptoms, and went on a tear and replaced plugs, wires and ignition coil, and blocked off EGR. No problems since.
