From what I understood he wanted to keep stock cubes anyway. A cam of that size in a 350 is a bit overkill. I guess when gas is $2/gal it becomes a factor in cam choice... did for me anyway.

Re: Biggest Cam on stock Cubes?
thanks for all the info guys it has helped out alot. I will be going with GM 847 this summer as it will be alot easier than going custom cam or having to deal with other variances. The 112LSA should be great for the spray so i wont get to do a 108 or 110LSA unfortunatley....but the spray will make up for it

Re: Biggest Cam on stock Cubes?
You will like the 847 on a 112 l/s way more than a 110 l/s for a street car and n2o. My CC306 is on a 112 and doesn't sound very radical but has a broad powerband and that is what makes cars run well on the street escpecially with smaller cubic inch.

236/242ish .600ish lift (not 100% sure on the numbers, documentation is still in the mail...) on a 110lsa, and mine has a mean lope, but has suprisingly good street manners. It's a daily driven car, and it does fine. I think the main thing in making act all sweet and nice on the street is a good tune.
Re: Biggest Cam on stock Cubes?
You really need to decide what you want to do with the car before you go and try and throw a big hyd. roller in there. I have heard SAR2Ks car and it has a very radical sound to it and that cam is bigger than his is. He is stock cubes and ported lt1 heads. The car gets crap for milage and needs lots of tuning to run right around town. His big stall helps the drivability but hurts his milage alot.
I run a solid roller a 25x/26x duratin wtih mid 650ish lift on a 110 ls. 12.5 CR. and it sounds pretty mean at idle. But..believe it or not...SAR2ks car has a more radical idle. http://www.ipsb.net/herringt/video/idle.wmv

Re: Biggest Cam on stock Cubes?
i have shared my cam specs before and a few people said it would not work good in an lt1 but since this motor does not have to stay in the car i will try it i have hit 12.20 @ sea level w/2800 stall 3.42s in a 3rd gen with a mini ram,30lb,58mm,1-5/8 hookers, dual stock cats, stock zz4 heads w/springs. the cam is an OLD comp its 230 @.050 560 lift 110 lobe sep, this time it has ported heads,1-3/4 LTs,3500 stall,t-350 trans,3.73s,i am sure it will run harder than the L98 did w/9.8 comp.and less stall...i think this car will see about the same but at 2400' any guesses?
