ZOMG!!!!! j.k.

If you are basically stock, your stock 48mm TB will do just fine. Start with your exhaust system, then move to your intake system (CAI and good filter). These are basic mods that should be done first, then you can get into headwork, cams, upping displacement, bigger TB and injectors, etc. But for now start off with basic stuff that will help you and that you will need to do before the bigger stuff anyway.

To expand on my post, I have a 58mm throttle body on my car. When I bought it about four years ago, the guy gave me the throttle body. He bought it for the car but never got around to installing it. I ported the intake manifold to match the TB and did the throttle body coolant bypass at the same time. The only reason the car was any faster is because my foot momentarily got heavier. Honestly, there was no real difference before or after. Save your money and do some other mods first if you don't already have the TB.

Unless you are running a heads/cam package, you will hardly see any improvement at all. Besides, the intake has to be ported to accept the 58mm blades. Same with injectors. Unless you are running the stockers past 85% duty cycle (which is doubtful on a stock setup) you don't need new ones.

If you don't have a cold air intake and a catback, start there, and work your way up to the point where you can benefit from a larger throttle body.

Why did you convert to a non-electronic trans?
