Re: best upgrades

What about heads and cam? How much would that cost, and how much hp could you gain from them? I have a same year T/A and seeing as how I have a full exhaust setup and K&N intake, I would like to do that next, as well as a 52mm TB. Though I would probably purchase an ECM and send it to a programmer for best gains from all the mods. That should all make for some decent power.

Was thinking of getting LT4 cam and having my stock LT1 heads ported and polished.

Re: best upgrades

Skip the LT4 cam...there are plenty other cams out there which will make more power. Contact Lloyd Elliot- he can set you up with a head/cam package for just what you want.

>depending on how much $$$ you want to spend.
I have a lot invested from stroker/Vortech T-trim/Comp Cans cam and rockers/AFR heads.... and the list goes on.
Stay streetable and enjoy your car.
CAI, headers, catback, some lower gears.
Imo.

Re: best upgrades

It has factory 3.42's with positrac. But can't you still add some more power and keep it streetable? I think for a daily driver/weekend warrior around 350 rwhp would be great. That's where the ported and polished heads with LT4 hotcam, with a programmed ECM come in. Also would be good to replace the timing chain, water pump, and optispark at the same time to not only add power, but durability too.

And what other cams are recommend with polished and ported heads for an LT1? All I heard was that Comp cams risk failure and that LT4 hotcam kit was supposed to be pretty good.

You can easily add power and keep the car streetable. You can get to 350rwhp pretty easily with a head/cam swap. People are pretty polarized on the hot cam....I think it's probably overrated and over priced. Your comment about comp cams simply isn't true..their cams work just fine in the LT1 engine and thousands of users will 'testify'. There was a problem with their race lifters but that's completely explained in a sticky at the top of the LT1 engine page.

Do some research, on here and other sites, and you'll see that there are literally hunderds of ways to accomplish what you want. Put together some ideas and repost...you'll get lots of opinions, some of which will be useful, some not so much. You'll see....

How about a 25 year old strawberry blond/ red head? Lol I'm trying to get rid of mine!!!! Oooops I just got smacked in the back of the head. Sorry honey lmao. There I made it a public announcement, I'm an a**hole she says roflmfao. Yeah I made the mistake of getting the hyper puke, I got it because I didn't know as much about the cars back then. I thought they all had the 150mph speedo, so I thought I could open up my car, well apparently if u have a 150 mph speedo your car is already opened up. As far as correcting diff changes and tire size? Idk I haven't used it for that. Infact if you want a hyperpuke I've got one I'll sell ya!!! If u don't have the 150 speedo would it work to open up your car? It will adjust your limiter, for giggles I put mine down to 5500 once to see if it would work. It did, but then I removed the programming. Like I said I'll sell u one cheap, worst 300 I ever spent, they say u can send em off for additional tunning if u install cai's or headers and so on, but I've never looked into that. The reason I really got it was because the guy @ jeggs didn't know what he was talking about, he said the thing would even read codes on an obd1 car.
