Exclamation Best Traction 275 or 315s?

Are there any differences, if any, using 275 (9.5) w/555rs and 315(11) w.555rs
which one will give ya a better grip?

the 315's If your rims are actually 11 inches, dont try to squeeze em onto 9.5 inch rims traction will get worse

the rim size is what decides this for you

if going with and 11 inch rim the 315 will be best

if 9.5 the 275 will be best

obviously the wider tire will hold the road better being as there wont be a whole lot of difference in the side wall (which is where traction comes from)

just make sure you get a 50 mm backspace with those 11 inch rims so they tuck nice and usually have the best fit with minimum wheel well modification (if any).

let us know what you get and how it fits.

I went from 315 nittos on 11" wheels to 275/50/15 nittos on 15x8 wheels. The traction dropped drastically. So many people say that sidewall is the key, but when it comes to drag radials or street tires, width is much more important. Go with 315's, they will hook a lot better and look so much more badass.

All depends on the tires. But everything being equal, of course the 315 will give ya better traction. More rubber on the ground. I had 245 Goodyear GSC's that couldn't spin if I tried. These Dunlop 315's will spin all the way, even when I'm rolling at 35 it will break loose.

Just got my new Goodyear GS D3's that are supposed to be badars today. But seeing as how my car just got nailed 2 hours after the tires came in, I doubt I'll be putting them on soon.

As far as the rims go. My 315's just bolted right up, no spacers or nothing needed. Fit under fine. I just had the fenders rolled so It wouldn't cut my tire when it bottoms. My car is lowered as well.

If you are talking about all around traction then wider will be better on dry road, and thinner will be better on wet road. More rubber on the ground means that you have a better chance of hydroplaning.

But since we all care about 1/4 mile hookup...

GO WIDE
