Question Can I fit 315 sized drag radials on my stock 9" SS rims?

I know the stock size is 275 but can I fit 315s?

There have been guys who've done it but I wouldn't recommend it.

Tire will really bow in the middle and actually reduce contact patch. I ran mine on 11" rims.

JMO, others will disagree.

That would be a Negative ghost writer...That rim isn't wide enough to hold that tire SAFELY.

Mods? I think it would be easyer for me just to list the things that aren't changed in the car.

Assembled here in the USA. No thinking required.

I would tend to agree but my buddy is telling me that the Nitto DRs run much narrower then regular radials and that he has a few buddies with 9" rims running 315s, not BFs. Over in the Corral they are using them on 9" Cobra rims (we don't want the Stangs having any kind of an advantage). I don't agree however that they would pull-in in the middle because proper air pressure will have a greater force on the tire then being squeezed a little more from the sides. What brand did you guys run?

Wouldn't that effect performance some what if it didn't fit all the way? wait a sec...isn't the SS rim a 9.5incher? I thought Fbody rims that are 17inch from the factory are 9.5inches. So according to what phantom said it would work... No we don't want those boys having the advantage but They have nice rims on there cars...(coughs a bit and looks outside at his car with Cobra rims.)

i would not recommend putting a 315 on a 9.5'' wheel, at least make it a 10.5''. ideally, you will want an 11''.

No factory rims are 17x9

The Nitto IS what most people would call a small 315.. not really a full 315 and they fit almost perfect on 9.5" rims.. thats why they arent 315's even tho tthey are.

Well it would be nice to get the real deal on the size of the rim. I tend to lean to them being 9.5" since all the copies you find for sale like on Tbyrne.com are all 9.5", why would the aftermarket copies of the SS rim be half an inch wider? And now Phil1001 says he measured them and they are 9.5"? Does anyone know the real deal?
