Well, I installed NGK TR55's and I gapped them to 0.050". I drove the car again for the first time tonight after the plug install. They ran awesome. Very smooth. Keep in mind though that I had lost the platinum puck on 4 of the 8 AC Delcos that I had. They were the stock plugs and were in for 61k miles. I thought the car still felt smooth then. Now it's even better. No misses up to redline.
They are working well for me so far. I'll see how things keep going.

If I find something wrong with the NGKs and or the wires I will post it here.
. It looks as if the metal electrode expaded till the porcelain gave way and cracked. It has dry deposits on it that look like rust but of a brownish color. I read on the chiltons book this type of fracture will cause the timing to appear retarded too.I have never had this happen before with any other plug.. I once "cracked" the outer porcelain of a spark plug my self while installing it on an escort. Cant blame the plug for that.... this one is a defective one.
So either I got a defective one, poor design, or bad production quality... either way it sucked big time. All the other plugs have the perfect color on them and they are clean.... so I know they are of the perfect temp range.
Ranting about....

Jeez before long NGK plugs will get blamed for as many ignition problems as the opti does
Well here goes. I replaced the stock ACdelco platinum plugs(original) with some new ACdelco platinum plugs right around 100k miles. Didn't notice a diference.
I even ran those for a while with heads/cam and had no problems but then swapped for a set of Champion copper plugs. Once again, didn't notice a diference.
Next I put a set of NGK TR-55s in, and didn't notice a diference.
I guess what I'm getting at here is a spark plug is a spark plug. I've tried three diferent brands and none have given me problems, and they have all performed on the same level.
If I had to make any recommendation I would suggest ACdelco simply because that's what was in the car when it was new.

BTW for you guys ordering plugs online Advance Auto Parts carries NGK. I gave them the part number I found online for the TR-55(do some research if you need it) and the guy behind the counter ordered them for me and had them there by 8 am the next day. It'll save you some shipping charges.......
Just some of my experiences.
NGK (aka: No Good Kind) center electrode wears extremely fast, have seen them down to the porcelin at 25,000 miles. They tend to change resistance (increase) when tightend down to the proper spec.
AC plats. good for factory or mild setups. No real problems.
Autolite, good plugs, run them in the race car so I cant really comment on the longevity.
Bosch +4, have them in the ss now. Working very well with 15,000 on them. First time using these and so far Im pleased.
