Best sounding and performing cat-back?

Are there any out there that have the best of both worlds? I tried looking for cat-backs, but it says cat-back in about 5,000 threads. Any help would be appreciated thx.

Just get a cutout.
There're cheap and as far as free flowing - you can't get any more free than open exhast!

I think you DEFINITLY missed the part about 'best sounding', because a cutout is not.

IMHO that would be the SLP 20TL (two on the left). All my soundlcips are with headers though, sorry. Still sounds awesome on a stock car, and most people agree it's very free flowing.

I love my SLP Loudmouth. Install was cake and people constanly compliment me on how it sounds. It really seems to have woken the car up some.

i've got a hooker catback and i like it a lot. The loudmouth also sounds good but my hooker sounds deeper and is not quite as loud, but once you get on it it sounds sweet. And it only like $290. I think you would be happy with either one around town but if u do a lot of highway driving the loudmouth might get to you.

Although when I say that the Hooker catback sounds the best, that is all opinion.

Fact wise though, hooker catback is possibly the best bang for the buck flow/sound/looks wise, and just can't be beat. Although, I hear good things about the slp 2OTL as well. However, I don't like the looks of the 2otl, so.. hooker catback gets my vote.

I have the new SLP loudmouth that has the cylinder shaped "muffler". You will need the 93-97 kit along with it if your car is one of those years. I also have a borla Y pipe and an offroad pipe with no CAT of course. My car sounds vicious. It is freakin loud!! I love it!!But even by itself without the other mods the SLP just sounded great. Also remember the Hooker is a good bang for the buck, but it is not stainless steel where as the SLP is. Just my .02

Hooker. I love mine and it sounds sweet. However NOTHING compares to open headers/y-pipe/cutout on an LT1. If I could run open headers at all times without it getting annoying quickly and being given ungodly amounts of tickets I would never run anything after the headers. But for cat-backs, nothing beats the Hooker system.

i used to have a magnaflow muffler on mine and then i swapped it out for a loudmouth..i love it..and i picked it up for $100 used and installation was a breeze...you'll love the loudmouth...but then again i dont have headers...some people say it gets annoying with headers....

i have a pro 5.0 shifter in the mail on its way to my house...hopefully that will have some advantage over the stock shifter

I have the Borla and think its sounds good...It sounds even better with long tubes and the 383 motor combo.

My Friend has Hooker, we both think the hookers sound good too.
He used to have a flowmaster muffler in the car an even though it sounded great outside the car it would give a terrible drowning noise when cruising on the highway inside the car.

I would say if you want to get one used in the forsale section, get the borla cuz you can change the plates and its also stainless steel but if you want to buy one new, get the Hooker, its way cheaper than the Borla and will give you good performance and an good sound too. If I had to do it all over again, I would have saved my money and bought my borla used (not new).

Hope that helps,
Claude

Well if you want to sound like a Nascar go with the loudmouth. If your looking for a good thoaty tone SLP 2OTL, thats what I have. Wouldn't trade it for anything! Just my personal opinion though..
