Any cold air induction. Prices range from nearly free home made systems to around $200 for brand name ones. Average gain of 10-15rwhp. Do a search for "cold air" or "CAI" to get some ideas of the different types.

HP per dollar would have to be nitrous.

Best cheap mod, I would say a cat back. CAI might give you a bit more power, but the exhaust sure sounds nice and changed the personality of the car.

For bone stock--
CAI ~ $150
Catback Exhust ~ $300-$1000
Custom Programing ~ $50-$100
Gears ~ $500
In that order, then you have alot of options.

Another vote for CAI first. It's a good first mod for a do-it-yourselfer too, not too difficult for any level of expertise.

It depends on what you want out of your car. Best for the money has a lot to do with if you do the labor or not. Gears were good but a Stall was the best thing for the money other that the juice. A friend of mine just bought a PI stall for $200 used thats not much more than a new CAI but alot more noticeable. Alan

just spray a 150 shot.
its not goingto hurt anything. there are guys shooting 175 and 200 constantly
just make sure you have all the safety crap like window switch and fuel pressure safety swtich

I spent roughly $200 on my CAI and Cut-Out (w/install). I LOVE the way the cut-out makes my car sound and when the car is idleing you can hear the CAI sucking air too. IMHO these are the best first mods - you get a hell of a loud car and you get a decent power gain as well. My next mod will be plugs/wires and a 100 shot - my drivetrain is under warranty so I can't fark with it yet .
