right now i have a cc306 and im wondering what are the best heads to build around this cam. I heard good things about the AFR 210's but want more opinions on this matter.

Re: best heads

you dont buy heads for a cam, you buy a cam for your heads according to the flow numbers. how big is the engine stock displacement or what. a ported set of stock heads will do great. but if you want a set of afrs 210 would be great.

You really need to get a cam if you're thinking about heads at this time. LE makes very nice head/cam packages at great prices and they use Joe O. custom cams. I would look at that rout for the best "bang for the buck" set up.

Re: best heads

One of the Impala guys was posting about thinking his HP was low after a few questions he had put AFR 195 on an otherwise stock motor including a stock cam with 1.6 rockers, my car had very similar intake and exhaust mods stock heads and a ZZ3 cam with 1.5s. We use the same tuner but he got high octane tuning and I got 87 octane, my car put down more power, now yes we have different heads but they flow just as well as your stockers and we start with a slightly smaller cam, but this still illustrates that it makes a whole lot more sense to do the cam first. Besides I would rather swap heads at a later date in the car than the cam, pick a good cam and put it in while on the engine stand and save yourself some hassle.
