best gear for these mods....

My mods
97 lt1 stock bottom end
m6
847 cam
stock ported heads and intake
315's on 11' zr1's (if it matters)

I have two rearend in my garage and was wondering which would be best for my driving style. I am told cam/heads cars need gear for low end operation.
My choice is between a 410 or a 342. Is it true that a 342 would be a pain on the street. I rarely go to the drag strip and mostly play on the highway when I do run it and would prefer the slight advantage of a slightly stronger ring gear however I do not want to sacrafice street drivability. So which should I choose?

The 4.10's will be quicker in the 1/4 but will also break quicker so you have to decide what you want. I would put the 4.10's in and run it until it breaks then put the 3.42's and save for a rear. But I have run 7.00's@98mph on a 150shot and 11.60's@117mph N/A in the 1/8th on my stock rear with zero problems. I am an auto too though.

For decent gas mileage go with 3.73s' if you want that extra edge with a M6...
