best "first" mods for LT1

I am picking my 95 T/A up on sat. It is a M6 car that only has a flowmaster exhaust, and a CAI. I am not sure what brand the CAI is though. What are some of the first mods I should do that will produce the most hp and torque? A ported intake and new TB? Headers? And also, is the flowmaster a good exhaust for the LT1?

You aren't going to need an intake or TB until you start making alot more hp. Headders would be a good way to go along with a tune.

1. Cold air intake. Moroso IMHO or AS&M if you want to spend more.
2. Cat back. Borla IMO.
3. LT headers. LPP all the way.
4. 1.6 Roller rockers. Comp pro-mags.
5. Bigger cam. CC503 or similar at a minimum.
6. Ported heads. Lloyd Elliot.
7. 52mm TB. Dime a dozen.
8. Ported intake. LE.
9. Dyno tune. Good tuner.

Do the LPP headers have good fitment? Or would it be a pain to try to get them on the
car in the engine bay?

Most headers will give you hell when you put them in one way or another, no matter what the brand or type. Unfortunately you'll have to be added to the waiting list for the LPPs - some of us were lucky to get their hands on the first batch.

I agree with most of it.

1. Cold air intake. --Done, he already has one
2. Cat back. --Done, Flowmaster muffler
3. LT headers. -- This is what I suggested
9. Dyno tune. --MadZ28.com, alot cheaper. Dyno tune after cam maybe
4. 1.6 Roller rockers. Comp pro-mags. -- Good choice, add some beehive springs
5. Bigger cam. CC503 or similar at a minimum.
5.1 Suspension, SFC's, LCA, Shocks, Springs, Sway bar, ect
6. Ported heads. Lloyd Elliot.
7. 52mm TB. Dime a dozen.
8. Ported intake. LE.

Pacesetter long tubes and Jet Hot/Hooker LTs are always readily available. Do you have to pass emissions?

I used MAC middies for 4 years and loved them before switching to JHs, then switching to LPPs.

Check out Jet Hot. They are modeled after the Hooker's with thicker flanges and primaries.

Full exhaust it will work with what ever setup you decide to use down the road (heads, gas, turbo, and so on)..

Tires and suspension is another good start. HP is worthless if you can't get it to the ground.

emissions isn't an issue here. I was reading where with some headers you had to grind the K member and stuff to get them to fit. I want something that isn't that much of a pain to put on. I will check out the Pacesetters and the jet-hot ones as well.

Did you notice if there was ever a recorded time in the difference of power or time ? Mids vs. long? My shorties still push my 3900# car 12.86 et.

I have pacesetter long tubes and the only grinding i had to do was the tranny (a4) bellhousing. just a small 2 inch cut off the ear, nothing big.
