I wanted to clean up the engine bay for a weekend project. What's the best overall cleaner for everything under the hood? Or what's a couple things I should use? I've heard of simple green or something, is that any good? Also where can I get it? I've also heard about using WD40 on rubber and it helps keep the shine. Does that work? Greatly appreciated. I just want something that won't be harmful to anything and will keep it looking nice. Thanks in advance.

 

I used a engine degresser i bought at wallmart on all the grease stuff and i use tire shine on all the rubber and plastic. Also you can get some neverdull and polish your ac, radiator and brake lines.

 

Simple green works pretty well. Spray down, scrub what's necessary, run an open hose to rinse off. Do not pressure wash and by all means don't saturate the opti. Just an open ended garden hose running water is sufficient to rinse everything off.
