Best deal on o2 sensors.

Haven't purchased a new o2 since I did headers in 05. Left bank o2 is bad and throwing a light. Might explain my terrible gas mileage. Anyway, was shocked to see that they're running 55 bucks at advance auto. I know I can get an opti from thepartsladi for half the cost of a dealer, is there a better deal somewhere online for o2's? I'd like to replace both.

What is the specific code you are getting? Not all O2 sensor codes are caused by faulty sensors.

p0134 is the code. The light went away, but the car started to misfire today (which it didn't do last time it came on), and came on again. So now I have a light on and the cars running light crap.

Gonna check the fuel pressure this weekend.

Didn't find anything close to that cheap when I searched.

My fuel pressure is great. Once the car cools off I guess I'll check the plug wires to make sure they're not arcing or anything.

My thing is, even if the o2's were bad, would it make the car misfire? I don't think so. Also, would it have any effect whatsoever at WOT? I thought that at WOT the car went into open loop and the o2's had no effect, so I wouldn't even notice a bad o2, but my car is running like crap all the time.

If the O2's are bad or getting bad readings due to exhaust leaks or misfires, it can cause the engine to run excessivley rich, or excessivley lean. It will misfire (or misfire worse) under those conditions, if its bad enough.

P0134 indicates an "open circuit" - sensor reading is stuck close to 450mV's. Did you use an extension on the driver's side when you installed the headers? Have you checked the harness wiring and connector?

No, I'm not using extensions.

I just went outside and made sure all plug wires were on tight and not arcing on the headers, and they all seemed ok. No burnt wires or anything, but when I started the car the misfire was gone and the light was off.

Apparently a plug wire was loose and I didn't know it.

I seriously need to do the OVC mod.

I've never heard of an oxygen sensor you can leaded fuel through..better check again.

Use Delco O2 sensors. The others work but not as well or as long as the correct GM part. Go to www.shoebox.com for part numbers then go to ebay to find 'em cheap....

IDK,, They advertised them in GM high Tech about 4 years ago when they first came out as being able to handle leaded fuel safely

Ahh, that explains it. I'm more than 4 years behind, I guess...

I just looked them up and, yep, they exist. They're a universal design so you have to make up the connections yourself.

Unless you run leaded fuel I guess I don't see any advantage to this product, but that's just an opinion....
