Re: best cai

What's with all this G2 bashing? I had the G2 on my Camaro and then switched to the K&N fipk based on similar threads I read here. However, I can honestly tell you that I didn't notice a difference when switching over to the K&N (other than it probably looks better). I should also note that I used my G2 without the little stock extention piece that sits behind the headlights. I wouldn't recommend buying the G2 simply because of the price. It was nearly $200 way back when it was still being sold on Lou's website. However, if you can find one cheap AND you like the look of it, I don't see why you shouldn't get it. The accessibility of the filter on a G2 was what won me over. The K&N and similar in-the-fender-CAIs are a pain to remove, clean, and reinstall. I have since sold both and am running the stock box. I will ultimately get another CAI, but this time I think I will get a cheap one off of Ebay. Like everyone has said here, performance wise, they are all pretty much the same. Choose yours based on looks and price.

Re: best cai

I have an ebay intake>$50 w/shipping full 3" polished tubing w/a huge CF reusable filter, which I customized to dram air from the bottom of the fender well, sounds insane also the polished pipes look sweet, I put the stock bolt in black panel back to protect it for everyday use since I live in Nor Cal and rain&puddles are part of everyday life here other than that I love it along with my custom exhaust it totaly woke the car up, oh yah it makes a really cool sound when you shut it off to

Re: best cai

Best for me would be the LPE supertube only because its almost identical to moroso and K&N and its the cheapest...Slp has the different look....all perform almost identical...stay away from the G2 system.

Re: best cai

you wont be disappointed with the way the SLP looks! If you go with the SLP intake and you have a metal vortex elbow piece be ready to get the saw out like I had too I think the rubber intake bends enough though where it fits nice. I need to post some pics, the SLP intake with the polished vortex intake looks sweet.

Note that the rubber tubing hits the radiator shroud a little bit. It kind of conforms to how it needs to be.

What good does that do. i believe the MAF is only 3inches. You can only flow as much as the biggest restriction.
