Best $29.00 Ever Spent

I finally decided to buy and install a cutout on my car and all I can say is wow. The sound is awesome, with the cutout open the exhaust tone got so much deeper and the raspiness/popping went away, even at the higher rpm's. I was worried that the sound would be annoying but its unbelievable. I dunno if others have similar great results but with my current exhaust setup, it sounds amazing. Also, I picked up my cutout from a local speed shop for 29 bucks including tax! Great price, great sound, great mod. Just my .02

Welcome to the club. Ive had one for years and have never got tired of it. Dont waste the money on an ecutout, I have one and never use it unless someone asks what the switch is for.

is it hard to install? I've been thinking about one......I just have Flowmaster 3.5" mufflers, not a whole system.

Re: Best $29.00 Ever Spent

The sound is alot louder but not obnoxiously loud IMO, I put the cutout to the rear of the car just before the passenger side rear tire. I get a little vibration in the car but not anything real noticeable. I've heard the Borla is basically an over-priced cutout but the sound with the cutout open is so much better than through the Borla muffler. I dunno which plate, if any is in my exhaust because the bolts were so rusted I broke one of them off trying to see which plate I had in. But there is no comparison with the cutout off and the Borla Also, the install isn't very hard, 2 cuts and 2 welds/clamps.

cut outs are cool - i got yelled at at englishtown one night cuz i ran it open...whoops.....anyways, i heard it isnt good to leave it open all the time cuz ur motor loses backpressure and then something can go wrong with your valves er osmething...get knocking etc...just thought i would share ....not saying im right or its true - just wanted to share something i heard

All of those rumors are false, leave your cut-out open for as long as you want.

Re: Best $29.00 Ever Spent

I dyno'd my car about 2 months ago with my E-cut out. I only picked up 2rwhp, no where near what everyone else gets. Maybe it's because i was running through the stock manifolds and catted y-pipe and those were more restrictive then the reqular exhaust, i dunno. I just installed headers and am planning on getting another dyno this weekend. I'll see if I get the 8-10rwhp gain now that i was expecting.
