bent valve symptoms...

hey, i think one of my valve are bent, went to adjust my rockers, and one was very , i mean very loose, been running like **** ever since, feels like its firing on 7 cylinders, well it was, put on a new opti and its hitting on all 8 cylinders, but still feels f*cked up, how can i check if one of my valves are bent w/o pulling the head off? thanks

are you burning oil?? typically you'll fudge a guide as well.

you would hear a tapping it would backfire and blow smoke out the tailpipes and smell like unburned gas

Hey man. Do a compression test on it. Then if you have the ability do a leak down test. If your exhaust valve is messed you'll have air coming out the tail pipe (use a lighter and light it right next to the tail pipe, the air will blow on the flame if theres a leak). If you have a bad intake valve you'll have air coming out the intake, that can usually be heard threw the throttle body if you take the intake off. If you want you can use a lighter to check that too. While you have pressure in the cylinder check the coolant for bubbles to make sure you dont hae a crack in the block of bad head gasket. But I'd say leakdown test would be your best bet.
