Anyone with the LS1 brake upgrade. Any ABS problems?

I have upgraded to LS1 brakes recently and now I am getting an ABS INOP light. I know of another person with a 93 who also has the same problem.

Here is what happens.... As long as the car is not moving, there will be no ABS light. As soon as I start moving, the LOW TRAC light flashes once and soon after that, I get an ABS INOP light. This is while driving, not while trying to brake. So I think it is not getting a valid reading from the wheel speed sensors.

Now, my LOW TRAC light has been doing that before, so I doubt it is related to my problem. I can tell my ABS is really not working because the brakes are locking under hard braking.

I have checked the parts manuals and noticed that TCS equipped cars had a different wheel sensor part number. Could my problem be that the knuckles/spindles came off a TCS car? If so, what are my options?
Thanks!

try cleaning the connections at the wheel sensors first, they may just be dirty and getting a bad connection

I upgraded to Z06 brakes and I have no ABS problems. I did make sure my connectors were clean etc before I reconnected everything.

Not sure where you are seeing that. The parts book shows the same front hub for 93-02 everywhere I looked. The sensor is part of the hub. Don't think that is your problem.

You're right, shoebox. I was looking at the wrong part number. (the sensor in the differential)
I re-bled the brakes today and they brake very well, but the ABS light is still there and they keep locking on harder braking.

I will check the connectors but I doubt that's the problem. Do you guys think that maybe my ABS unit needs to be recycled? I did not have an ABS light before I did this swap so I didn't think that part was necessary.

Unfortunately, I do not have a Tech 2 so if I can't figure this out, I'll have to take it to the dealership to have the code read...
Thanks.

Re: Anyone with the LS1 brake upgrade. Any ABS problems?

For anyone who was curious about this, I just fixed it.

The ABS INOP light got really old and so did the brakes locking all the time.

I decided to swap my old rusty 93 hubs in place of the LS1 ones. (which look brand new BTW)

I pulled out the wheel, caliper and disc, then removed the hub. I decided to examine it before putting the old one in. Well guess what... one of the connector pins inside it was bent. I'm surprised I haven't noticed that before... I looked 3 times with the wheel on.

As soon as I put everything back together and reset the ABS module - NO MORE LIGHT!!! Yes!!! Brakes work perfect now.
