bent valve question

what dose it take to bend a vavle and how do you know that you ahve bent one ?++main reason i ask is that i have open headers at the moment and at idle there is just about no exhuast coming out of them .. i checked the pushrods and there all fine .. all i could think of was bent vavles that was cutting off air flow .. is that even possible > ? thanks

What, I can't hear over your damn open headers???

A bent valve doesn't seal. This would not block air flow. There are a number of ways to bend a valve, but this usually occurs with inadequate piston to valve clearance. It wouldn't cause what you describe, I guess. Really, I am not to sure what you are describing. Is it a running problem?

no it runs fine, well kinda fine .. a little rough

but theres no exhaust really coming out of my headers ..
i had a exhaust system ( headers , catback) on my car .. and when you put your hand by the pipes behind the car theres nothing coming out of them .. just heat .. so i took all that off to see if there was an opstruction

and now im running open headers and theres still barley anything coming out of my pipes .. could there be a clogg? is that even possible ? in headers i mean ?

the car dose run rich and i do see to ruin sparke plugs pretty fast .

there should be nothing in the headers to cause a restriction.....and with the headers running open you won`t have anything coming out of the tailpipes, only the headers.

no offence really but .........

do i sound that stupid ?

i understand that the nothing will come out of the tail pipes .if i was running open headers. maybe i didnt make it clear enough

i have a full exhaust system and theres almost no exhaust coming out of the pipes weather it be headers ( when im running open headers ) or when there is a full system hooked up . then theres even less coming out .

Do you have a rat nest in your intake? I wonder if your intake is severly restricted. There is nothing in the exhaust that could cause a restriction.

Since you are running open headers, are you running O2s? Even if you are running O2s without exhaust the car will run rough when the car warms up.
