Benifit of V6 springs on rear?
Benifit of V6 springs on rear?
I just ordered the HAL setup from T Byrne... Trying to decide what springs to run in the rear. I would like to drop the car an inch or 2. I was told lots of people run the V6 springs? What are the benifits from them? Will they lower the rear at all?
Thanks

I honestly do not know an EXACT answer to your question, however, with most of the weight difference being at the front, as far as lowering the car I don't see the V6 springs making much of a difference in ride height maybe 1/2 inch...I do think the spring rates damping/rebound will probably be lower resulting in poorer handling...I don't think I'd do the V6 springs in the rear...hopefully you'll get some of the suspension guru's to help you out, but thats my opinion...
Well yeah, i can understand that when you use the springs all the way around because it'll make the nose set lower... but I won't be doing that. I'm using HAL's in the front and need something to compliment them in the rear.

The softer v-6 springs should let the rear squat more on launch, and theoretically transfer more weight to the back. That my or may not help you out (or hurt you), depending on the rest of your setup.
You might try posing this in the drag racing section, along with the rest of your suspension mods and power output.
I imagine that if you get the hals working up front for weight transfer, then you'd want some stiffer springs in the back to help plant the tires, not softer.
