just need to verify. I was doing the TB bypass. Coolant leaked down to the opti. I went to start it, it started, but shut right off.

Have you tried it since?
Give it a little time to dry out and see what happens.
It may turn out that you do need an opti but I would not jump into it just yet, give it a little time and make sure before getting into an opti swap.

agree wih rev time - let it dry off and try again -

opties' do not like to get wet but that are not THAT sensitive that a bit of coolant running over them woruld cause them to break - if so they would break ever time we have a heavy dew

It takes a bit of coolant to leak on it (like the hose spilling coolant ALL OVER IT and then you still have a chance of it not dying.

I still need to do the bypass myself, and was wondering about coolant getting on the opti. Are some rags placed under the TB enough to keep the coolant away? How much comes out?

Put some towels or rags under the hoses. Not a lot should come out.

Zack: are you sure you plugged your MAF back in?
