hard to find a tuner in Wisconsin for LT1 so was wondering if ION still tunes in DeKalb? He did a mail order tune for me a million years ago and thought he had access to speed inc dyno to dial in my tune.

He doesn't do LT1 tunes anymore, IIRC.

Re: Been gone for a while is ION MADZ tuner still out there

A few years ago, his website indicated he would no longer tune LT1 PCM's, because the cars were so old that failure of people to maintain the cars was causing problems with his tunes, more work than it was worth.

The link I had for his website no longer works. There was someone on ls1tech that claimed he was able to get in touch with him in July 2017. If you are a member there, try contacting the person who posted.

Street - Autolite 104 @ 0.040 (up to a 125-shot)

Track (300-shot) - Champion S57YC @ 0.030"

Really can't idle for more than 15 minutes or so with the ultra-cold Champs.

Re: Been gone for a while is ION MADZ tuner still out there

I'm sure you don't want to sink the $ into it, but a ls pcm conversion with 24x will solve the lack of tuner issue, and everybody claims the car runs smoother, definitely more reliable if you live in a humid climate like me. No one wants to mess with lt1 pcm anymore. Like Fred stated, too many issues with old vehicles/harness' and more time involved means less profit. If you plan on keeping the vehicle or further modding, I would suck it up and convert, but I know it's easier said than done for most people. Even doing it yourself is roughly $1k, BUT, after that anyone will tune it.
