beating the egr flow ses light?
beating the egr flow ses light?
Just installed MAC's, and I'm getting two codes, one for a bad bank 2 O2, and one for low egr flow. If I get some cats welded up to my ory, will this provide enough backpressure to eliminate the low egr flow problem? If not, how will I pass inspection? We have the "plug-in" emissions test now in Mass, so I can't be throwing any codes. I'm probably going to weld up cats in the future anyways, but if it eliminates this code I'd rather do it sooner rather than later. And the bad O2, think this is from the coating burning off? Thanks
Re: beating the egr flow ses light?
suggest a madz28 tune.. www.madz28.com or talk to "madwolf" on the board here because he owns madz28, he can disable the codes you are getting and is very helpful with any questions you might have. Its worth the money cause you'll also get a power tune out of it
Your looking at about 100$ out the door. which is not bad for 10-15 hp power tune and disable the codes, lower fan temps, etc...The 100$ is well spent because you cant even compare the power to dollar ratio between a catback and the madz28 tune. You actually feel a difference with the tune, at least i did
Wouldnt be a bad idea to get new 02's aswell cause they will help with gas mileage. they might get messed up from the coating

Re: beating the egr flow ses light?
The problem with "disabling" the codes is that the EGR will then show up as "not ready" when they plug into the ALDL connector. In most states, they will allow you 1 or 2 "not readies", so it may not be a problem.
I have seen a method that uses the EGR's vacuum solenoid signal to put a resistance into the MAP sensor circuit, thereby providing the change in MAP signal that the PCM is looking for when it runs the EGR diagnostic. Should be able to find some posts regarding the spoof with a "search".
