BBK & MAC Headers
BBK & MAC Headers
I've read several posts about BBK & MAC headers. I too am looking for a nice set of shorty headers where access to plugs won't require disassembly of part of the engine! Where can I find BBK and MAC headers?
What about Hookers? Thanks All.
Oops forgot to add. I have a '97 Z with A4 tranny.

Re: BBK & MAC Headers
BBK's are shorty, MAC's are midlength, and Hooker offers both shorty and long tube.
Best of all worlds, plug access, etc, MAC's would probably be a good route for you. People have put down some big numbers with them as well.
Check out the Vendor Index for some shops.

Re: BBK & MAC Headers
+1 on the MAC mids. Plug access is probably the best of any header out there, installation wasn't overly complex, and they really won't limit you as compared to longtubes until you start making some seroiusly sick horsepower.
Re: BBK & MAC Headers
Long tubes can create the most horsepower. I don't have exact numbers but i think you lose a little low end torque with lts. Long tubes are also not emissions legal so that could be a problem and you also sacrifice some ground clearance. Shorties are generally cheaper and give some hp withou sacrificing torque. Mids seem best of both worlds depending on your needs.
