Bay area mechanics

I was wondering If anyone can recomend a good mechanic for my car in the S.F. bay area. I was thinking getting a tune up wouldn't hurt any.

With what people try to charge, and the tight engine compartment that seems to want to make people work sloppy and strip threads, I'd do it myself. All a tuneup consists of are a few parts replaceable by yourself, plugs, fuel filter, etc

I'm with Dr. Mudge on this one. Get a Chilton's or Haynes manual (or both) and learn to turn your own wrenches. Not only is it ungodly cheaper, but no one will take car of your car like you do.
