I used a 15 mm socket on the passenger side then an open end 15mm on the drivers side. You can but the bolts and seal as a kit from the dealership or you can buy a new steam pipe with bolts and seals all included. you can also get them from gm parts direct but if your in a hurry go to the dealership, as gm parts direct took almost 14 days to get the part delivered to me.

Steam pipe seals and pirates

Count yourself lucky. I just spent almost $10cdn per seal at a recommneded Pontiac dealership here in Toronto. I was going to go with gmparts direct but they don't deliver up here yet.

I also thought I heard someone say you could get the seals at NAPA by the bag for a much more reasonable price but they don't stock them in Canada (not sure about U.S.A). I like the gasket paper idea but am not very confident of my skills in tackling it. Anyone have any pointers? Where do you get gasket paper? I wonder how dependable that option is.

Any other solutions?

Update

Well i got my new bolt and seals at first the car was still leaking but i tightend it down alittle more and it did not leak and i had the car running for 30min's but it seems when i was tighting it it felt like i could tighten it evan more but i did not want to because it was not leaking at that point and i could not drive my car because the 4 inches of snow on the ground lol but all i have to do now is connect my header to my ypipe and it should be good to go now all i have to do is figure out how the hell to get this header to stop rubbing against my steering linkage on my mid headers from pacesetter. I would like to thank everyone on this board for helping me out through this whole headgasket install

This is of interest to me as I am about to install the same headers. If you have found a way to stop the rubbing please post the solution.
