When I pulled my heads last time I coud not crack the passenger side loose for nothing. After a lot of cussing and bloody knuckles I cracked the driver side loose and the coolant tube came off with the right side head. Getting it back on should be much easier than that.

It is either a 15mm or 17mm and you will need a wrench, a socket and wratchet will not get in there. It is hard as hell to get to. Dont give up.

Get a ratcheting wrench set. 15mm is what you need. I really didn't have too hard of time with mine when I just recently swapped heads.

ratchet wrench is the way to go on these;not enough space or room for a socket.

I've had to go as far as clamping vice grips onto the bolt and whacking the vice grips w/ a hammer. More often than not it would work. If it didn't and I destroyed the bolt head then I'd have to cut the steam pipe and just buy a new one. I've also read of people taking both heads off at the same time with the pipe still connected and then dealing with the bolts after the heads were off the engine.

I have one head that the bolt is RUINED on. Pipe wrench is next! Basically because it's the only thing left that will fit the bolt head.

Bolt

i got my bonjoe bolt out and i am going to get a new one from the dealer because the head of bolt is allmost stripped and yes it really was not that bad because i went down and bought a 15mm wrench and i could fit my skinny hands back there without taking anything off and luckly i got it out. I do have a question i only seen one seal and that was at the top of the bolt and there were no seals on the steam line itsself but my question is. Is there suppose to be a rubber part on the outside of the hole on the cylinder head it looks like it will not come off and i did not want to force it out if it was suppose to be there i forgot to put the other seal on when i put my head on but please let me know about that rubber part on the head

It should be like this:

head -seal -pipe - seal -bolt head

Somtimes the seals are so stuck, they look like part of whatever they are stuck to.

I used a wrench to get it off. Didn't have a problem.

Also, I just took some gasket paper and made the two rings.

Hasn't leaked at all since.

Here is another option if you're having big problems getting the bolts loose w/ the heads on. Once the intake is off, just cut the cross-over tube and then take the bolts out after the heads are off. Yes, you'll need a new cross-over tube assembly, but everything is give and take on an LT. Nothing is too easy. Always use new seal washers when re-assembling the tube.
