Ok.............lets see. You have a 160k motor and you want to put new lifters on top of a cam that has a well developed wear pattern..........then let those lifters develop a wear pattern quickly to the old cam..........then take those lifters that have a newly developed wear pattern and put them on top of a new cam. I recommend not doing that.

My recommendation is to keep the lifters you have in there now in there. Lifters go with the cam. Once you buy a new cam get the LS7 or Caddy lifters as stated and that will make your new cam happy and live a long time.

The same goes for the other stuff especially if you plan to do a complete rebuild soon anyway. Reason being is due to the specific spring and seat pressure/ install height to optimize the cam and heads that are chosen. Again I'd wait and save your money because Lloyd and AI both sell all the stuff together as a package as far as heads go. Sure if you wanted to go with some 1.6RR that wouldn't have any negative or less optimal affect for the future in any way and would actually give you a little more umph.
