I wouldnt buy it, check Karl Elwines site, he has a good package with all the stuuf you need, for about the same price, or you can just buy the Mahle Power Pack, and Scat 6 inch forged rods from Jegs or Summit, for about 800.00. Balancing is going to cost you about 300.00.

That kit will do just fine. AI is a well known shop and wouldn't sell a rotating assy. that didn't work. If I had it to do again I would've gone w/ a Compstar over my Eagle crank assy. I ended up going with Compstar rods rather than Eagle due to the more clearance demands the Eagles needed over the Compstar. Also had to get the flywheel reamed out a few thousandths and an oversized throwout bearing because neither would fit.
I haven't heard of problems like this with Compstar.

Balancing costs vary a lot. The further off the balance is, the more it takes to correct. I guess that's obvious in that more work (time) is involved the further off it is. But also, if weight needs to be added it get expensive fast. The way weight is added is using slugs of "Mallory" metal. Mallory is primarily a tungsten alloy that is much dense than steel and also quite expensive. If wieght needs to be taken off, holes are milled in the counterweights. Basic labor charges are in the $100 dollar and up range, plus materials. I have spent as little as ~$125 and as much as $400.
