Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
Re: Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
guess that rules out the fuel pump. all thats left is the MAP , MAF , and CPS, and I took the coil and ICM to Autozona and advanced and they said we cant test it unless its under load...lol
Re: Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
Just for fun I did the little MAF Test where you pull the plug while the engine is running. pulled it and it did nothing at all. didnt change the way it idles or anything. how accurate is this "test"?

My problem seems severe. I found tons of oil on the spark plugs after only 100 miles.
Looks like it's time for a rebuild.

I'm still trying to tack down my issue. It has been several months now but I think I may be on to something. Be patient and persistent and try to stick with it.

Yea I feel ya, mine has been doing this since August of 2005. I think I have tried everything. I am going to check the pushrods for a bent one or a lifter. after that I think I might has to bite the bullet and put in MR. GOODWRENCH's hands. OUCHHHHH though....I see me having to take out a loan to pay for that one.

ok, i adjusted the stop screw on the tb because i notice it wasnt even touching the blade. i just turned ir up to put a little tension on the blades. got in the car and for about 2 mins the problem was gone, and then it slow came back. does this mean my TPS or IAC is out of wack?
Re: Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
TPS Voltage is too high at idle
MAF Voltage is too high at idle
You have electrical (wiring) problems or a bad PCM. Try hitting the PCM (under the hood passenger side) when it is running. See if it changes idle or anything.

Re: Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
Probably not relevent but just to run down a couple things. My LT1 powered Caprice had stumbling issues. The first time it was the EGR valve and the second time it was the little amp/ignition module where the coil mounts to. My White Z had a bad miss and it was just a burnt plug wire.
Re: Bad Stumble...Im at a loss
Actually, the TPS voltage is too low at idle. On the LT1, if the TPS voltage is below 0.20V, the PCM can not baseline the "0%" TPP setting, and sets a code for low TPS voltage. I would definitely suspect a TPS reading of 0.088V.
"10.40" is not the MAF voltage, it the mass air flow rate in grams/second, and its normal, given the fact that the IAC motor is bottomed out.
One problem in the data in addition to the TPS low voltage, is the fact that the IAC is bottom out at "0" and is no longer in control of the idle.
