I have some old gas in the tank as the car sat for almost a full year with no stabalizer. I am wonder would this cause me to get white smoke out of my exhaust and a little sweet smell (kinda like a cleaner in it).

 

Pure white smoke with a sweet smell is only one thing COOLANT. Pressure test the cooling system.
