Question Bad emergency brake

Whenever I pull on my E Brake, not much happens. I dont use it that often, seeing how its an Automatic car, however, i would like to have my e brake in good working order. How can I do this?

Re: Bad emergency brake

Have you ever done work on the rear brakes? There are some springs that go on the e-brake parts on the brakes. I was missing a single spring and my e-brake would not work for anything. Spring was like a $5 or so part.

Re: Bad emergency brake

when i changed my rear pads my e-brake would not hold any. you probobly need to do the free travel adjustment. the hardest part is removing the springs. after that piece of cake.the other hardest part is putting the springs back on.
