Bad coolant hose causing overheating?

Well today after I got home I smelled the smell of coolant as soon as I got out of my car and discovered a constant drip of coolant coming right off of the front sway bar so i was like wtf? when I looked a little closer i could tel the drip was coming from a coolant hose that goes into or out of the water pump. The hose was all coroded at the end and bulged up at the end also. I have also been running way hotter than normal lately even with the fans on high right after start up(manual fans). My question is could this bad hose be causing my other problem? I havent taken the hose off yet so I have no clue what itl ooks like inside. Thanks for any help.

The hose would not be the direct cause but more likely an indirect cause of the problem. By letting air in the system, it's probably "air bound" causing a flow problem. Look real closely at the weep hole in the water pump whle your changing hoses unless it's new. Probably a good time to change it while your there.
