backfiring

so i switched out the wires and now my car is backfiring >=(
could it be that i messed up the wiring order?
right now im just waiting until it cools off so i can go back under it again

Would that be the spark plug wires? If so, a pair of crossed wires could be causing your problem. Are you sure the end terminals of the wires snapped solidly onto the plugs?
