Arrow back of 1 full turn and still no chatter?

my car has been a pooch and running like crap...like you guys have probably read i have just had the heads redone, and 1.6 s/a rr's installed...it just has a miss throught out the power band as if it has a fouled spark plug, but the miss gets no better or worse.

after reading the posts on here about the valve lash and what not, i decided to give it a try, so i took the driver side valve cover off and loosened all the rocker arms 1 full turn with the engine running, the motor started to sound better! i then went another half a turn and still no chatter from the lifter but the motor seem to run free-er... i havent had a chance to get the the passanger side. but i drove it down the road and it feels the same...right now id rather drive my dodge with the good ole' magnum v6 in it then my weak A@$ camaro.

do you think this could be my problem...i was too chicken to see how much i had to go to find the chatter, because i have no clue on what im doing, but from what i read..a turn and a half is a little tight dont you think?

THANKS,
steve.

loosen the rockers untill it claps, then tighten with your fingers untill it stops. then turn another 1/2-3/4's turn...do this with the motor running...

takes about 30 mins for both sides

i lashed the valves with the motor off and when the lifters pumped up the valves wouldnt close at all..
