B&M ripper hissing at me

B&M ripper hissing at me
Well I just installed my B&M ripper shifter and I had it in the forward position. The shifter seemed to rattle and a hissing sound would come from the tranny(sounds like where the shifter goes into the tranny) while engaged especially while downshifting.
I thought it was just the forward position that I had it set at so I used the stock position washers for the shifter and it is still hissing at me.
I've already made sure that I put rtv arond the shifter and also made sure that the boot was sealed all the way aroung.
I have no idea what is happening?
Talked to my uncle about the prob and he is like a car genious and he couldn't figure it out so I was thinking somhow maybe a faulty shifter?
Please help - very annoying.
Thanx
Josh

Sounds pretty common. I also have this shifter and have the same noises. Nothing to worry about. With the aftermarket short throw you lose the bushings that dampen the vibrations with shifters. This allows for shorter firmer shifts, but also allows for vibration noises. Its a give and take world. Turn the radio up or getter a louder exhaust and you won't notice it anymore!

Thanks - I thought something was really wring with the damn tranny( worn parts or something)
Sometimes I like just listening to the car when I drive but I guess I'll have to get used to the hissing if thiers nothing I can do about it
