Awe crap.. ??? is up with the longer dowel pin?

I've done at least 5 cam swaps and everytime the cam pin was to long. Also everytime the cam pin would NOT tap in. They were all Comp Cams so maybe they're different. I just cut the pin to the correct size everytime.

^ sorry to bring this back but what did you cut it with? some kinda saw or can i just grind it down with an angle grinder

I just took the cam to a local machine shop and they got it down to .624
