Autotap advise please...
Autotap advise please...
I do not own autotap. A couple of friends do, and one has already done some basic logging and is willing to again.
I would think that doing multiple logging runs, with each concentrating on a specific system or type of system, I can get more in dept information without bogging autotap down so bad as to make it worthless.
Can you make suggestions as to the best groups of sensors to use for each system to give the best possible diagnostic information?
Can you get information from Autotap about transmission performance?
Can autotap tell you which cylinder(s) are misfiring?
Several people have told me that there is something wrong with my car. They feel it is too slow. Here's my car info:
1996 Formula A4 with 2.73s.
Best time:
60' 2.133
1/8 9.257s @ 77.05 MPH
1/4 14.299 @ 98.04 MPH
Mods to car at time of that run: 160* Thermostat, TB Bypass, SLP CAI and TB Airfoil.

Your 60' time kinda sucks gnads, get that down and you could be runnin mid-high 13's with a A4 and mid 13's with a M6. I know you sed whether it was auto or not but i dont feel like clicken back to see, and for some reason it wont show ur original post at the bottom when im tryin to reply ??? F*** Windows 98 !
The biggest problem is that this thing kinda falls on it's face right off the line.
Fuel pressure seems to be ok, ~36-38 at idle with the vacuum line attached... ~44-46 at idle without the vacuum line attached and ~44-46 at WOT... It's extremely stable too... SOLID fuel pressure.
Plugs and wires are fairly new, less than 3k miles on each... They are NGK TR55 and Taylor Spiro-Pro 8.5mm
The CAI filters should be clean ~6000 miles on them...
I'm going to try changing the fuel filter to see if that helps, but with the pressure nice and steady like it is, I don't know if that will help any.

Try posting in COMPUTER PROGRAMMING/DIAGNOSTICS forum.
Somebody there should be able to help.
Off the top of my head I think you would want to look at
Knock
Coolant temp
Spark Advance
MAF readings
TPS readings
IAT readings
Sorry I don't have Autotap but will be getting it shortly.
I think the main thing is make sure every thing is working properly
and is consistent every time.
Hope this helps!!
