which autometer guages..water temp/oil temp-mech or elec
Ok ..im about to get my last two guages...2 5/8 water temp and oil temp to go into my car. Now for the water temp..do I need electronic or mechanical? and for the oil temp..which is the one that comes with the probe? the electronic or mechanical?
Re: which autometer guages..water temp/oil temp-mech or elec
Both a mechanical gauge and an electronic gauge will come with a "probe'".... in the case of the mechanical, its a 6-ft capillary tube with a bulb on the end. The tube has to be routed through the fire wall, and the bulb inserted in a convenient opening. With the electronic, the probe is a thermistor that screws into a convenient opening, and connects via a wire to the gauge.... definitely a lot easier to deal with than running the capillary tube.
I have an electronic oil temp sensor screwed into the oil drain plug.
