Autolite 104s what gap?

Hi guys,

i just read a thread on here about spark plugs and generic sbc plugs. I got autolite 104 because that is what i figured would be best for my application. But since im not running n2o...yet. would some other plug like 105s be better. Also ive got mine gapped at .050, sould they be gapped at .035 since they arent stock plugs. My car doesnt keep climbing in power past 4k and sometimes it misses past 5500rpms, but it only misses every now and then.

So should i just regap my 104s or get different ones untill i get n2o?

sorry for it being so long but i need help

thanks guys
James

Autolites tend to run hot so the 104 is a good choice NA, for N2O most prefer the 103. I would run the 104s at .050 till you get the nitrous setup, if then running something little like a 100 shot maybe try them as is but be prepared to have to switch to the 103s at .035-.040

I gapped my 104's at .036 to tame some of my cam surge and it worked, gapped them originally to .050 and it was missing higher up in the revs

Switched from the 104's to 103's. Ran both @ .040 with good results.

I regaped mine to .035 and they were all covered with black buildup from the .050 gap being to big. I checked them 3 days after the regapping and all the build up was gone.
