Auto X-ray scanner number?

Is the auto x-ray scanner part number 35000, will it work for a OBD I 12 pin connector for a 93?

I didn't look up the part number but if this is one of those deals that you plug into the diagnostic port to have the car flash its codes, save your $$$.

You can do the same thing with a fused jumper (a lot of people simply use a paper clip)

Jumping pin 5 to pin 6 and turning the key to "on" will flash the SES light. There's some info on the 'net that'll tell you how to read the flashes but I don't recall any off the top of my head.

For $200 it better be a "real" scanner

If you have a laptop, or access to one I'd rather spend that money on a cable and TTS Datamaster software (or even Freescan). It should be MUCH more useful than that little LCD display

That one should work fine for your car. I think you can get one maybe $50 cheaper if you shop the 'net. If you don't have a laptop, you gotta have something, right?

I have that I think[it doesn't have that # anywhere on it, but is for OBDI GM called the XP240..] It has scan and capture mode.. reads and clears trouble codes..

Some of the things it reads:
AC clutch engaged or not
AC pressure
AC requested
Battery voltage
Block learn
CCP duty cycle
Closed or open loop mode
Coolant temp
EGR duty cycle
Engine RPM
Fans on or off[# 1 and 2]
IAC count
IATemp
Injector pulse
Knock count
Knock retard
MAF flow
MAP
O2 mv
Spark advance
TCC locked or not
Throttle position
Vehicle speed
There's more but you get the idea.. It's been handy for me and I got it used off the for sale board for about 90.. I have a laptop and cable... scan program and edit or tunercat is next..
Also handy for other GM 82-95 [my chevy van for ex]

Yeah, that is the same as what you saw on the Autoxray site-just cheaper. I have used an Autoxray for many years. I needed a scanner long before I got my Camaro.

Charlie, I upgraded my XP240 to an EZlink a few years ago. Mine now does OBD-I and OBD-II enhnanced, plus I have the PClink that will let me graph out my capture on the computer. It also lets you get free upgrades to your scanner on the 'net.

Of course nowadays a cable and laptop are the best way to go if you have the stuff.
