Attn: Shoebox, Coil test question

Shoebox,

I saw the coil continuity test on your website and decided to check mine out tonight, and compare it to a coil that someone gave me(the borrowed coil was either new, or barely used)

Anyway, the coil I have on my car now showed a little less resistance then the newer coil. What I was wondering was, does this test show the coil is working perfectly? I am trying to chase down a bad stumble problem (low rpm, high load situation) and just wondered if that continuity test let you know for sure the coil was good , or if it could still have a problem . Thus I should try the newer coil?

Thanks

Jason

Don't know if I could address the question of "working perfectly". The test was to prove there is no lack of continuity or extremely high resistance in the windings. Basically, I would feel like a coil should be ok as long as the readings were not too far from the test values I found.

My findings were about the same 8200 ohms for the stock coil and 5600 for the MSD Blaster 8226 just for a second set of numbers.
