ATTN : Pedals Vibes With Cam

I have recently done a cam in my car and several days after i was finished i started getting a very bad vibration in my pedals and shifter. I though it was a pilot bushing so i replaced the pilot bushing along with the clutch assembly and throw out bearing and a new tranny mount. All this seemed to help a little but i still get the vibes! Its only when it is in hear and on a load. When i WOT it its not that bad in the high rpm's. Only when im kind of lugging the motor and giving it a load. It is not speed sensitive and not really RPM sensitive. So here are my guesses, it just is going ot do it with a bigger cam, u-joints are shot, harmonic dampner is bad, or rear end gears are shot! PLease someone help me, it drives me crazy! Thanks

I'm mot really sure what you mean by "vibration". Does it affect drivability, does it seem like a miss. I don't really know where to going on that description. Holla back at us.

Definatly not a miss, its a vibration, ill explain like this, you can set your foot lightly on the clutch pedal and when i give it gas it will vibrate the pedal and kind of annoy your feet. And the shifter will do it too. A passenger can not feel it in the floor board. Its only in my pedals and my shifter. It does fine under WOT and really doesnt occur. Also when downshifting or free revving it doesnt happen. So its not RPM based, only does it when its under load. It was real bad but putting the stock style tranny mount in helped. But it is still there and really bothering me, i would really think that someone has had this problem( I HOPE )

I have a feeling that the reason the stock tranny mount helped was because it is softer. Which means there is a definate vibration problem. You said that it does fine under WOT, but do you notice ANY type of miss? Somthing that you would feel through the shifter AND the pedals is gonna be something that needs to be taken care of. I would check your plug routing, all of your vac hoses, and sensors. The scary thing is, you almost had to get the Opti wet when you took off the water pump, which means that you could have fried it. These are a few things off the top of my head. I'll think of some more and post back. Mike

I dont think its the Opti since it ran fine for a few days after the cam install. I was thinking more in driveline area and not a miss. Ive checked plug routings and all of that time and time again. I think its something really small im missing?

I would start with the balancer. Verify that you didn't bend or crack it when it was removed / replaced.

Thats a possibility, but why does it do it under load and not RPM based. I thought if it was the balancer it would be there will any high rpm's and not just a load?

Jusr wondering if anyone has an idea. Also it really doesnt do it when its cold, just when its warmed up. That kind of makes me think it is a miss but ive checked the plugs and wres several times with no luck of finding anything wrong!
