Yeah, I have it on my system right now. I got your PM, but will answer it here where it's with all the other responses.

First, I don't know how strict your emmisions testing is. If it's just passing the sniffer, then you'll be o.k. going to the single cat MAC headers. If you have a visual inspection, you may have a problem because your cats have been moved from the stock location. There is now one single cat instead of 2.

Anyways, I just switched my entire exhaust system. I had stock everything up until about a month ago.

Here is what I did:
-Bought Jet-Hot coated '94-'95 MAC headers (About $560 shipped)
-Bought a 3" Carsound (model 94109) cat from performancepeddler on ebay for $45
-Bought the required 3" ball end and Flare end to weld to the Carsound cat. I bought these from MAC for $40. You then need to weld them to the cat with an overall length of 29.5" I believe.
-Bought a Hooker catback exhuast system from www.thunderracing.com (about $280 on sale) You already have a catback system for your '96, so all you need is a S-pipe to hook your current catback to the cat. You can get the S-pipe from www.thunderracing.com
- Bought Mr Gasket Ultraseal header gaskets for the LT1 (about $20 at Autozone)
-Bought AIR adaptor fitting for the AIR connector to the headers. Got these from Jet-Hot for $20. They weren't a perfect fit with the MAC's, but they don't leak and look right.
-Bought a 12" flat 4-pin O2 sensor extension for the drivers side O2 sensor from www.ls1speed.com for about $20
-Sent PCM to www.madz28.com to get the rear O2 sensors deleted from the PCM. I also got the performance tune, removed speed limiter, raised redline to 6000 RPM, turn on fans at 195 degrees and knock retard desensitizing. All for $125.

If you want to do plugs, then that will be another $20-$50 depending on which plugs you choose. My factory ACDelco's had a few of the platinum pucks missing from the plugs, and I replaced them with NGK TR55's from www.ls1speed.com ($16+shipping) I'm still waiting on the PCM to get back, so I haven't run the engine with the new plugs yet.

I did drive around with the PCM on the stock tune, which is fine for these headers (you just get a SES light because the rear O2 sensors have been deleted) That's why I'm having the PCM reprogrammed, to get rid of the SES and for the other goodies.

The car felt AWESOME with the new headers. More power in the entire RPM range. The power gain was unmistakeable. I broke the tires loose much easier than I could before, and that's with 275/40-17 tires. Before I used 245/50-16's. I spin the 275's more than the 245's used to! And the 275's are sticky tires too, Goodyear F! GS-D3's

I did have an exhaust leak at the header collectors that I welded shut. Other than that, everything was great!!!

Hope this helps.

Dan

thanks! you have helped me out a ton i think im going to do the same! now, just a few more questions...

can you remove your cat and replace it with the off road pipe too?
the ball end and flare end was so that theres no welding on the cat to s-pipe right?
why will i need an s-pipe, dont i already have one?
why do i need a 12" flat 4-pin O2 sensor extension?
why get the rear O2 sensors deleted from the PCM,what is deletion...isnt that illegal?

thanks so much for your time!
