ASR light on dash
ASR is "Anti-slip Regulation". In other words, traction control. In some 4th-gen F-bodies, there is a fairly crude version of traction control that automatically reduces the throttle to control wheel slip. When you press the switch to turn ASR off, another light indicates "ASR off" status.
well, my car is a 94 z, but a few weeks ago i found out that the opti was a 95+ style. did they change something with the traction control between years? i havent found a traction control button if its suppose to have one.
According to the 94 Camaro Owner's Manual, ASR = Acceleration Slip Regulation. The Camaro White Book confirms that, and correctly shows that ASR = RPO NW9 was not available until 95. GM had every intent to put ASR (Pontiac called it "TCS") in the 94 F-bodys, but it never made it into production until 95.
If the vehicle had ASR, it would have NW9 on the build tag, an "ASR" button on the console near the cig lighter, and a large, ugly black box on the driver's side valve cover, with throttle cables entering and leaving.
