Asr?

I have a 1996 Z28 w/m6. I do not think I have ASR though. I have seen the light come on like 2 times when I was spinnin a bit when it was wet, but it never stopped me from pressin the gas pedal. I do not have a button to turn it on or off. Did my car just not come with it or what? I could roast my tires off if i wanted, and nothing would stop me. Just something I was wondernig about.

THanks

No, it doesn't sound like you have ASR. My car came with it. If you had it there would be a small electric motor over your drivers side valvecover. Be happy that you don't have it cause it really sucks. And it's hard to get rid of.

Yeah it does suck. Larnach is supposed to be doing the !ASR mod and hopefully he'll be able to post the parts required to remove the traction control and retain ABS since no one has stepped up with part numbers and what not.

Its second nature... I think in the past 2 years I have forgotten to take it off before doing something like 3 times tops. Not that big of a deal.

Yep, the sad part is I ordered my car with ASR. A friend of mine had it on his LT1 vette, he talked about how great it was, he even went as far as to say it probably launched better than an all wheel drive car when the ASR was on. What a bunch of B.S. Live and learn. I am in the process of taking some weight off the car now, getting rid of the ABS,ASR,SRS. Now if I can just figgure out an easy way to get those pesky lights on my insturment pannel not to light up.

you can by a thing from SLP that reverses the ASR button (so when you turn on the car it's off, but you can turn it on if you wish)

It's 50 bucks

here it is at thunder racing, near the bottom of the page

I'm gonna grab one one of these days, I hate the routine too

I have a 1995z28 and on the stock radio at the bottom there is a button that you can turn the ASR on or off with.
