arp oil pump stud

today i mounted my oil assembly and when i torqued down the oil pump i noticed that the stud seemed rather short only topping the oil pump by about an 3/16 of an inch. the oil pump nut is torqued down to 65 ft/lbs and the stud only reaches 1/2 way into the nut.

does this sound right, or should i get the longer oil pump stud?

Re: arp oil pump stud

As a rule of thumb the stud should reach at least all the way through the nut for proper clamping.

Threads go all the way through the cap, make sure you are not putting them in too far.
