Anyone using the cheaper R/R's in Jegs or Summit?

They are like half the cost of the Comp Cams peices. Just wondering if the money is well spent?

Thanks,
James

I have the summit 1.6 roller tip rockers ($98) and they work just fine however, I will be replacing them with pro magnums to go to a full roller.

Check out crane's Blue Racer line. Full rollers at decent prices.

wow .. BlackLT1_TX your going though all the same stuff i am. lol everytime i do a search for somthing im interested in i see your name. im currently pretty much doin the same thing you are but cc306 rather than hotcam. also take a look on ebay from some of the power sellers. they offer summit brand rr's new for like 55$ + shipping. the best price i got on magnums was 129$ which is still pretty good compared to the cc website. most likely im gonna run stock rockers and comp springs till i get money to slap full rollers and pushrods on mine. i dont plan on going to high rpms anyway during my breakin period. hopfully if all goes right im gonna do a hone job rings mains rod bearings then add the 306 to match my stg 2 ported heads intake ported maf and 58mmbbk on top of that i already have a crane ignition wires and coil. im still undecided on pcm mods.im hoping to get 350 to the wheels. even more after a full exhaust rrs elec pump bypass mod and tuning.

I used the Summit roller rockers on my big block. They worked just fine. I only put about 5000 miles on the engine before I decided to take it out, but while they were there they did just fine...no problems.

The summit RR's are not self-aligning so you will need guide plates
