Anyone using 1.6RR's?

Just wondering if anyone had to change their pushrod length when using 1.6RR's, specifically Crane Energizers

Use the "search" tool!!

99.9% of the time, stock pushrod length is what you want as if you have any shorter, than the 1.6 ratio is absolutely worthless, and most likely won't work.

If they are too long, at zero lash, the rocker will be pushed open since that extra length will poke the cup on the rocker arm, tilting it down, and then pushing the valve down (in theory...I haven't messed with it yet, but I am getting ready to)

BUT USE THE SEARCH!! THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN COVERED!!

yes, i know what the search button is, and i've seen alot of threads about rockers on stock components

and yes, that's all well and good but some people have aftermarket heads and other varibles that might affect the length, which is why i posted this to hear from those that have actually "messed" with it. thanks.

With 1.6s you should still be using stock length. Crane has some 7.195" hardened pushrods for 40$. Those should be sufficient.

I bought my parts, I just haven't "messed" with the install yet...I had similar questions when buying my parts and found the serach tool very productive in helping me make sure that I wouldn't be playing the Summit Switch-Out Game. Thought I might pass along that little jewel.

Modify your signature and it will help tremendously.

Dont make yourself look like a ****ing dick in your first ****ing post. You obviously dont know what the search feature of the site is, because if you did, you WOULD have took five minutes to use it. If you had "aftermarket heads and other varibles" you should have stated it in your original post. If people replyed to a previous thread that you found while searching, it must have been some one who has "messed" with things before, or knew a little about what they were talking about or they wouldnt have replyed.
Haha...Welcome to the board though.

Hey moron,
why don't you try using the search feature and let me know what you come up with...

question: i'm switching to 1.6's, do i need new springs and pushrods?
generic answer: yes, get new springs, and use a length checker

it's the same posts over and over and over

now, i've used the length checker with a solid lifter, i know exactly what size pushrod i need, i was trying to get some input as to what other people have already found with their combinations... so unless you can be of help, why don't you go play with your little green 1995 trans am, k?

Heres my input to get this a little back on topic: With my hot cam kit and 1.6rr, you guessed it... I used 7.2" pushrods like 99.9% of the board members out there are using.

What are you running or planning on running for your app?

So you not only knew how to search, but already found the answer using search, and your way of introducing yourself to the forum is to start calling people names?

Enjoy your short stay here.

I'm running sportsman II's and an lt-1 intake conversion on a standard 350. Yeah, i know it's not an lt-1, but hardly anyone uses HOT cams on engines other than lt-1s. Not sure which head gasket i ran but I remember it came out to about 9.35:1 with stock deck height block. I did the solid roller trick and came up with 6.95"... 7.2" was most of the way down toward the exhaust side with the sharpie trick

No, I found a generic answer to a question I wasn't even asking. Am I supposed to sift thru hundreds of posts when 99% of them are about people asking if they'll need to change it rather than people talking about what they've had to use? And i'll call people anything I want when they say something like "Dont make yourself look like a ****ing dick in your first ****ing post. "

That would have saved a ton of time, and a few tempers apparently.

Just slap your set-up in your signature and all will be golden...Also, you will probably get a lot more set-up specific advice. Thats just my $0.02 so feel free to flame...because all this over pushrods...ain't worth it.
