cam dowel pin removal???

I have a lt4 hotcam and the dowel pin is .3 inches and I believe the stock one is .608 inches, I need to remove the pin and put in a new longer one? Any suggestions or ideas on how to remove it?

You will more than likely have to take it to a machine shop...or at least I had to do that with mine. They had to weld a slide hammer to the pin to get it out. They are in there pretty good

I put the pin in the vise and twisted it out.

Our tool for doing it is just a modified automotive dent puller that you can pick up at any auto parts store. Instead of the regular threaded piece on the end it uses a die grinder fitting (the part that holds the dowel of the cut off wheel, sanding roll, etc) to grab the dowel pin, tighten it down, a couple of smacks on the slide on the puller and voila. Out.
